Senior Project / Installation Engineer

Position profile

I. Familiar with offshore industry standard regulations, codes and practices such as API, DNV, BS, ASME etc…
II. Familiar with Installation and Construction daily requirement in marine and vessels environment
III. QHSE aware and diligent in gathering inputs in that respect
IV. Good communicator at all levels
V. Proven technical and procedural writing skills
VI. Qualified to work offshore on-board of vessel or platforms – BOSIET training required

Primary Tasks and Responsibilities

The basic required tasks and responsibilities are as follow:

I. Review and discuss with the Eng Manager work instruction received from the client;
II. Work closely with the project planner to establish a safe and cost effective schedule for the works and ensure a peer review has been performed
III. For each SoW assigned, prepare list of deliverables and work closely with document controller to ensure timely inter disciplinary reviews and issue to client
IV. Prepare and follow up with all subcontracted services scope of work necessary for completion of the assigned SOW.
V. Draft and issue equipment list and material take offs according to SOW requirement and establish subsequent purchase requisitions;
VI. Liaise with buyers and logistic coordinators to ensure timely delivery of the purchased material and equipment
VII. Ensure QHSE inputs for the subcontracted SoW and Purchase orders is adequately implemented
VIII. Attend regular project/engineering coordination and operations meetings when required
IX. Comply will SAIPEM internal processes and procedures relevant to the offshore operations and engineering

X. Executing / supporting Offshore and Onshore operations requirement
a. Perform all the preparations work regarding the assigned SoW
b. Responsible for all the technical procedures, drawings and reports required for the SOW assigned to him
c. Lead the internal review of methods and procedures adopted for the job.
d. Establish and Secure the client’s timely approval of all the technical documents required for the works
e. Coordinate all the technical drafting work required for the procedures;
f. Ensure an adequate filing system is in place electronically (shared folders) and hard copy if required
g. Establish the deliverable register with issue dates in accordance with assigned SOW to be proposed to client
h. Adhere to the agreed deliverable milestones and communicate the same to sub vendors and service providers
i. Coordinate the subcontracted work requirement with relevant parties
j. Liaise with HSE coordinator to provide input into TRA and HAZID reports required for the safe execution of the job
k. Coordinate readiness reviews with all disciplines, the client and client subcontractors covering all stages of the job.
l. Ensure an on-the-job briefing has been rolled out for all onshore and offshore crew prior to mobilization and execution phases
XI. Support the vessels and offshore operations
a. Secure the approval of all required lifting plans for the relevant authority.
b. Ensure all project documentation required for safe execution of the assigned scope of work is adequately disseminated among key personnel
c. Follow up with day-to-day activities coordination with yard or vessel management team
d. Establish regular communication with field engineers

XII. Coordinate the close out activity
a. Working closely with other disciplines (HSE, survey, ROV and vessel management team), ensure the close out dossier index is established
b. Ensure the completeness of as-built and/or close out dossiers as per client requirement
c. Establish a lessons learned register from the job completed.

Secondary Task
 
 Prepared to lead more junior engineers and assist them in their training and progression
 Prepared to be flexible with working hours to fit around the offshore needs
 Team work and appropriate liaisons with other discipline is a must

Education

Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering

Experience

8-10 years of Construction experience within the offshore at Major EPC company

Skills & Capability

 Basic IT skills, knowledge of ACAD and MS project preferable
 Understanding of general requirements of offshore operations from an IMR work perspective
 Fluent with installation engineering process and typical construction work flow in an offshore operations job
 Working within offshore engineering is an advantage
 Communication & Presentation skill at all levels, establish a good balancing act among the interested parties, Problem solving skills
 Leadership (Human skill, Project Construction management, attitude to risk ..)
 Exposure to international postings is an advantage.
 Fluent in English written and spoken, knowledge of Russian and Azeri is an advantage
