Position title: Welding Engineer

Schedule/Location: 5/2, Baku

Job Responsibilities:

• Develops welding techniques, procedures, and application of welding equipment to problems involving fabrication of metals, utilizing knowledge of production specifications, properties and characteristics of metals and metal alloys, and engineering principles
• Prepares technical reports as result of research and development and preventive maintenance investigations.
• Establishes welding procedures to guide production and welding personnel relating to specification restrictions, material processes, pre- and post-heating requirements which involve use of complex alloys, unusual fabrication methods, welding of critical joints
• Evaluates new developments in welding field for possible application to current welding problems or production processes.
• Responsible for the development of welding instructions and revisions.
• Perform detailed review of 3rd party welding review report
• Review current methods and controls.
• Inspects welded joints to ensure welds meet company standards, national code requirements, and customer    job specifications.
• Working with the Manufacturing Manager, as well as quality and engineering representatives, agree best opportunities / recommendations and develop a plan of implementation.
• Provide hands-on support in delivering the recommendations. This will include both clerical and administrative work tasks.
• Deliver and record all agreed implementation actions.
• Perform a close out review and offer long term recommendations.

• Provides welding related technical guidance as requested.
• Provide site based technical solutions to welding problems.
• Assure integrity of the contractors and their sub-contractors welding operations through technical welding reviews. Assist as a subject matter expert during in quality audits.
• Must be experienced and respected as a SME (Subject Matter Expert) in your respective field of influence.
• Participate as SME in the development of Quality documents and Procedures.
• Provide regular reviews, develop and facilitate implementation of welding related technical documentation.
• Participate in Vendor and Contractor qualification process. Revue Contractors’ and Vendors’ Welding QM Procedures.
• Plan, supervise and conduct weld related Quality audits, supplier and field reviews of work practices, inspections and documentation to ensure Contractors, Suppliers, and Subcontractors execution according to approved procedures, codes, specifications and regulations.
• Play active role in deployment of safety culture.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgy or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of ten (5) years’ experience in a similar role, working in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Experience working for Client/ Consultant.
• Fluent in written and spoken Azeri, English, Russian
• Ability to work as part of a team and have good interpersonal skills.
