The Role:
- As the Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) Advisor you will be working primarily offshore on one of our two seismic research vessels on a rotation basis with equal time on and off.
- Reporting to the on-vessel Manager and onshore QHSE Project Manager and working with the Maritime crew.
- Strong People skills are required to interact and support the crew and our clients with all Health, Safety and Environmental issues.
- Good Presentation skills are required to provide Training to the crew in small and large groups.
Duties and responsibilities:
- To ensure that all company procedures and international guidelines such as IOGP, and JNCC are respected and followed.
- Arrange and schedule audits and workplace inspections.
- Provide necessary safety information to the crew through HSE training.
- Attend pre-job toolbox talks. Organizing monthly safety committee meetings.
- Execute QHSE responsibilities in the Business Management System manuals & procedures.
- Analyze the work environment to ensure a safe workplace and be designated as the health and safety representative on the crew.
- Improve the “safety culture” of the entire workforce by participating in and promoting the company’s Behavior-Based Safety Programme and reporting tools.
- Verify environmental compliance through inspections of waste management, marine mammal mitigation, atmospheric emissions monitoring programs, and the project's Self Verification Program.
- Ensure all crew, have access & guide the use of in-house company reporting system (FLAG)
- Provide training and guidance on implementing the Business Management Procedures & Project Specific Plans & provide feedback on Ideas and Opportunities in FLAG when updates or improvements are required.
- Lead and coordinate tests of emergency response & rescue plans & provide input during drill evaluations.
- Assist crew by performing quality checks & loading local documents (work instructions, related forms & task risk assessments).
- Utilize reporting system to verify compliance audits, inspections, monitoring efforts & reviews on the responsibilities defined in the Business Management System.
Education and experience:
- Education to degree level.
- NEBOSH and ISO Standards certification or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of overall experience as QHSE practitioner in a similar role
- Proven understanding of the maintenance and operation of management systems.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrable leadership skills.
- Good spoken and written English skills.

- Full training will be provided to you in the Caspian Geo Management system and required business tools.
