Job purpose:

The Valve Technician position performs maintenance, assessment, repair, and testing on various types of industrial valves.  

Relationships:

  1. Directly Reports to: Technical director
  2. Close working relationships with: Operations
  3. Directly Supervises: Operations Manager.

Main Responsibilities & Key Result Areas:

  • Perform maintenance, assessment, repair, and testing on various types of industrial valves.
  • Calibrate instrumentation, such as meters, recorders, gauges, and regulators, for pressure & temperature.
  • Perform repair and testing of various valves, including ball valves, gate valves, butterfly valves, safety relief valves, etc.
  • Perform the disassembly and repair of mechanical control devices.
  • Assess individual components of the valves or mechanical control device parts for defects, dents, or malfunctioning areas and bring to supervisor’s notice for urgent action.
  • Handling and operation of hydraulic valve clamping test rigs
  • Perform disassembly, cleaning, inspection, measuring, re-assembly and testing of valves at client locations.
  • Follow all schematics and documented procedures in accordance with all Quality Control.

Qualifications:

Essential

  • From 3 years of experience in Calibration and Measurement
  • Minimum professional certificate (AZAK)

Preferred

  • High School Diploma and 2-5 years industrial valve repair/maintenance experience, or an equivalent number of years of education and experience.  

Experience, Competence, Skills & Knowledge:

 

  • Mathematical knowledge – an understanding of applied and technical mathematics, including probability; statistical inference; and concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions, is required to calculate uncertainty in measurement
  • Troubleshooting capability – calibration technicians need troubleshooting skills to determine the reasons why measurements and test results are not within the expected range
  • Analytical ability – the ability to analyze raw data, extract key information, and draw logical conclusions about data is important since calibration technicians analyze test results, make recommendations, and apply innovative solutions to complex problems.

Required for positions:

 

  • Familiar with tools and machinery required to perform daily valve repair duties.
  • Experience with repairing various valves and actuators, whether pneumatic, hydraulic or electric.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

  • Lunch is provided by the company
  • Working hours: Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 17:00, 5-day working week;
  • The place of work is located at 22 km of Salyan highway, Baku.
