Please note that we have a new vacancy for a suitably qualified and experienced Secondary School Part-Time Teacher of English as a Second Language from October.

Please note that Azerbaijani citizenship is required for this position.

The successful candidate will start working at TISA from October 2013 with a work schedule of 5 periods a week spread over 2 days:

5 periods per week supporting ELS students in mainstream classes (Math, Science, Humanities)
Tuesday 10:20 – 11:50, 15:00 – 15:45 (3 periods)
Friday 9:15 – 11:05 (2 periods)

The candidate is expected to:
 
• Provide quality instruction for the students at TISA in accordance with the school's established curriculum, school policies and expectations.
• Work in a positive, professional, supportive manner and develop a collaborative and team approach to enable the school to achieve its stated philosophy and specific goals.
• View the role of parents in the learning process as important and promote and foster good parent-school relationships.
• Liaise with mainstream teachers and ELS Head of Department.
• Differentiate materials for students.
 
The main responsibilities of the Teacher include, but are not limited to:
 
• realising actively the full potential of each student and promoting ideals of excellence in his or her learning.
• establishing a well-managed learning environment where active, individual learning and progress for all students is the norm.
• planning lessons collaboratively with the relevant mainstream teacher.
• evaluating and monitoring students' effort and achievement in accordance with the school's established assessment and grading procedures and adjusting teaching strategies accordingly.
• ensuring that qualitative and quantitative feedback is given to individual students. The Homework diary/assignment notebook is to be used for the recording of homework and school - home communication in line with school policy.
• maintaining up-to date records for classes.
• reporting any situation which might constitute a health and/or safety hazard to students or school employees.
• conducting school business at all times in a professional and ethical manner.
• understanding and being supportive of the diversity of the school community and students’ family backgrounds.
