TECHNICAL INTERPRETER
CLOSING DATE: TBD 2013
Nobel Oil Exploration and Development Ltd. is seeking a technical interpreter for its Offshore Business Unit based in Baku. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of interpretation for Offshore Business Unit’s exploration and production activities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Written translation of technical materials related to upstream petroleum industry (well reports (drilling, geological, production, etc.), various technical studies (geophysics, petrophysics, petrographics, etc.) from Azerbaijani into English and visa versa;
- Verbal translation during operating and technical meetings with partners related to upstream exploration and development projects.
Required qualifications and skills:
- Very good knowledge of technical terminology related to upstream petroleum industry and written and verbal proficiency in English and Azerbaijani; Russian would be an asset; knowledge of economics and legal terminology would be an asset.
- Good written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to work under time pressure.
Experience:
- Proven track record in technical interpretation.
