Description: Construction Field Manager
Job Purpose:
Completes construction projects by planning, organizing, and controlling projects; completing quality inspections; supervising subcontractors and staff.
Job Responsibilities/Duties:
• Provides oversight of subcontractor personnel through orientation of tasks, training, scheduling, monitoring day-to-day activities; communicating job expectations; planning, appraising job contributions.
• Manages subcontractors for adherence and compliance to BISI policies, procedures, and work scope requirements.
• Manages subcontractors on work sites through daily evaluation, coordination meetings, and controlling performance.
• Meets operational standards by contributing construction information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying construction management system improvements.
• Coordinates with the design engineer to meet the construction budget by monitoring project expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions.
• Accomplishes construction project results by interfacing with the design engineer for definition of project purpose and work scope; scheduling and coordinating with the subcontractor; evaluating project purpose and work scope assumptions/conclusions; resolving on-site construction problems in a timely manner `with the design engineer; evaluating and implementing change orders.
• Provides quality assurance and quality control during construction projects by conducting inspections at critical phases; obtaining approvals from the design engineer.
• Ensures that subcontractor work is conducted per Azerbaijani codes/standards for work scope tasking.
• Maintains clean, safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing BISI ES&H standards and procedures.
• Understands engineering/construction drawings for constructability in the field and provides construction oversight for subcontractor work.
• Prepares technical reports using a variety of software, such as MS Word, MS Excel.
• Supports construction projects through data review (subcontractor submittal, drawings) for compliance with specifications; coordination with design engineer for drawing review; and review of subcontractor submittals.
• Assists the design engineer for project commissioning including observation of final testing of all systems and generation of commissioning documents.
• Ensures all closeout materials are delivered to appropriate parties including equipment manuals, as-built drawings, warranties, electronic files and turn-over of equipment to facilities.

Qualitative Requirements:
A successful construction field manager must be able to motivate and inspire project team members to perform at their best. In doing so, the manager must be an excellent communicator, posing superior interpersonal skills. Client contact is also an important part of this job. Construction field managers must be comfortable interacting with both management and client, providing reports on the progress of the project, managing their expectations and comprehensively explaining things to those not in the industry.
