Leading European Insurance Group is looking for a new Senior Data Engineer to develop, maintain and test Data Solutions, from source to target. Together with international colleagues, the new team member will be contributing to an agile team to secure fast delivery of high-quality results.

Role description:

• Implementing enterprise-scale Data Integration and Ingestion Solutions using Big Data Technologies
• Supporting existing Data Integration applications
• Transforming the existing tools / frameworks to a holistic “Data-as-a-Service” platform

Main Tasks

• Develop, maintain and test Data Ingestion solutions
• Implement Change Data Capture pipelines enabling real time data feeds
• Improve DevOps routines and procedures
• Build data processing systems and ETL pipelines
• Contribute to Data Governance

Personality requirements and skills

• At least 3 years of Java Development in enterprise-grade environments
• High proficiency with Big Data Hadoop/Spark/Hive/HBase/Impala/Kudu ecosystems like Cloudera / Hortonworks is a must
• High proficiency in cutting-edge Data Integration & ETL (e.g. Nifi, AirFlow, Talend), as well as Data Replication and Messaging Broker (e.g. Kafka) tools
• Experience with CI/CD (Jenkins, Hudson), IaC and DevOps toolstacks (Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes)
• Experience with setting up applications using Cloud Infrastructure Providers
• Knowledge in different programming or scripting languages is an advantage
• Knowledge in tools for Data Governance and Data Cataloging (e.g Apache Atlas / Cloudera Navigator) preferred
• English language (B2)
• German language is an advantage
