BP's Upstream segment focuses on finding reserves of oil and gas, developing the means to extract and process it and then consistently producing and transporting it to market. Role synopsis
BP Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey Region (AGTR) invites professionals to apply to Structural/Civil Engineer position ensuring the safe and consistent application of BP and regulatory codes and standards and good engineering practice, and provide technical direction to the engineering contractor.
Key accountabilities As Structural/Civil Engineer, your main responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
Technical Integrity
• Ensure compliance with BP Technical Integrity and Health Safety Security Environmental (HSSE) standards.
• Act as a source of technical expertise on Structural/Civil Engineering issues.
• Ensure the Structural & Civil Engineering Lead is kept fully informed of key issues, status and outstanding actions.
• Advise on the use of standards, practices and design guidelines, including approval of exception requests.
Contractor Management
• Manage the design contractor’s work scope.
• Administer, set direction and provide oversight of the design contractor.
Engineering Performance
• Ensure compliance with BP project principles and associated guidelines.
• Coordinate Integration and interface management including Procurement Supply Chain Management, Construction, Drilling, Operations, and 3rd Party consultants.
• Ensure the final structural design meets the agreed standards and requirements.
Essential Education
• Master’s degree in civil/structural engineering
Essential experience and job requirements
• 5 years of civil/structural discipline engineering experience in a projects environment
