Senior Well Engineer Operations

The job envisages that an employee meets the following qualification requirements:

- Higher professional education in Engineering
- Additional training in Drilling, Completions and Well Services Operations
- Proven Leadership skills

- The minimal previous work experience under the speciality shall be 10-15 years.

2.  Employee’s Responsibilities

The job responsibilities of Senior Well Engineer Operations are identified on the basis and in the scope of the qualification requirements and may be amended and identified according to the Job Description as required.

Job Description:

HSE

- Drive excellence in HSES and drilling well servicing performance
- Implementation of appropriate hazards and effects identification and management (HEMP) in the all phase of the well delivery process
- Verify compliance with operational and HSE policies and standards, legislation and statutory requirements
- Verify that all Contractors adhere to and are fully aware of SEIC’s well control policy and procedures.
- Generate and maintain of the well engineering risk register and representation of risk mitigation / impact in cost and schedule analysis
- Follow up and where necessary lead investigations into HSE incidents or accidents.
- Conduct offshore/site/workshop visits on a regular basis to promote HS&E issues and demonstrate safety leadership commitment.

Management

- Manage well engineering team offshore and at the office
- Safeguard the Company’s assets and interests (e.g. platform, wells, materials and equipment)
- Implement GWDP (Global Well Delivery Process) processes and controls for all Well Engineering activities
- Supervise the drilling contractor and service personnel to deliver the highest quality performance and technical integrity of the wells. Adhering to the global and local Technical Standards
- Manage interfaces with Asset Managers, Contractors, other SEIC Departments: Development and Subsurface, Business Support, Finance, Central HSE, Approvals and Compliance Group, Engineering, Relevant governmental bodies of the Russian Federation and Local Agencies, such as Rostechnadzor
- Maintain cordial working relationships with the Drilling Contractor, Integrated Service Provider and Rig Construction Contractor
- Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements and the global minimum standards.
- Developing Russian staff

Planning

- Support, Guide and Supervise the preparation of all detailed drilling, completion and maintenance programs for the oil, gas and disposal wells of the asset in line with the requirements of the Sakhalin 2 project, including cost, schedule and well potential;
- Ensure integrity of cost/time estimates and tracking of well costs during the design phase through to spud and completion.
- Verify that contractual cover, materials, equipment and logistics are available at the planned start dates for the anticipated duration and specified scope of the program.
- Identify and implement of New Technology that will cause a step change in UTC.

Execution

- Manage the execution of the well work programs in accordance with agreed objectives, statutory regulations and company policies.
- Change or re-schedule the operations outlined in the well program, when required in order to achieve the well objectives.
- Manage all aspects of rig operation primarily the day-to-day HSE, well operations, maintenance of rig and equipment within approved AFEs from the Yuznho office.
- Provide guidance and expert judgment to the rig site Drilling Supervisors on drilling, completion, workover, production testing, abandonment and all matters related to the operations of a rig.
- Monitor costs on a daily basis, ensure that the most cost effective techniques and equipment are made used.
- Maintain and control the availability and quality of the services and equipment provided under the Contracts.
- Tracking of progress against schedule, including identification and follow-up with deliverable and disciplines not under direct well engineering control.
- Ensure the After Action Review and Lessons Learned are captured and shared with other assets
