Senior Drilling Supervisor

The job envisages that an employee meets the following qualification requirements:

- Higher professional education in Engineering or Specialized secondary education in specialty Oil and Gas Wells Drilling
- Additional training in Drilling Operations, Completion Operations
- Well Control

- The minimal previous work experience in Drilling, Well Completions and Workover Operations shall be 10 years.

2. Employee’s Responsibilities

The job responsibilities of Senior Drilling Supervisor are identified on the basis and in the scope of the qualification requirements and may be amended and identified according to the Job Description as required.

Job Description:

Purpose

- Supervision of all Well Engineering operations executed by the drilling contractor crews and specialist service engineers, and ensure that they are conducted in an efficient and safe manner in accordance with company policies, standards and procedures.
- To ensure full compliance with SEIC HSE policy and work procedures for aspects of the well engineering activities offshore.
- To provide continuous, accurate and reliable information to the well engineering team on any aspect of the rig operation.
- To represent Well Engineering and interface with other departments in the day to day running of the platform.
Principal Tasks

Without compromise to corporate health, safety and environmental standards and in accordance with Statutes, Regulations and Company Policies, the incumbent is responsible and accountable for:

- Implementation of the SEIC Wells Department's: Policy, Organization, Technical Standards, Management Controls, Control Procedures, and Working Practices for the safe execution of Wells activities.
- Implement controls and processes to safeguard the technical integrity, economic interests and reputation of SEIC assets, in respect of Well Delivery.
- The safe execution of agreed Well Engineering Operations programmed activities on time and within budget to deliver maximum value across SEIC assets.
- Driving value improvements by application of GWDP to all Well Engineering Operations activities.
- Participate in and share best practices by attending and participating in lateral learning sessions and utilizing LL tools.
- Communication with onshore Wells support during execution activities, ensuring prompt response to operational problems.
- Maintain interrelations with platform, and particularly OIM for the coordination of activities and management of POB, HSE Critical Tasks, etc.

Principal Accountabilities

In delivering well services activities and completions the incumbent shall:
HSE
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all drilling crews, subcontractors and personnel involved in the well activities.
- Ensure full compliance with company policies and procedures as detailed in the Safety Management System, HSE Standards and all other HSE documentation.
- Set a clear leadership example and promote a high degree of health, safety and environmental awareness among the drilling crews and subcontractors.
- Reviews effectiveness of rig HSE systems through inspection and audit.
- Ensures all near miss incidents and accidents are correctly reported.
- To protect the environment at all times during rig operations. Including the prevention of potential pollution risks at a later date as a result of current operations.
- Take responsibility of the asset and coordinate the safe execution of activities within the asset using risk management tools and permit controls.
- Promote active use of the STOP system and Tool Box Talks. Attend safety meetings and promote the correct safety culture.
- In the event of an accident make the operation safe and be involved in conducting Incident Investigations to determine route cause, learnings and recommendations.

Management

- Safeguard the Company’s assets and interests (e.g. platform, wells, materials and equipment).
- Supervise the drilling contractor and service personnel to deliver the highest quality performance and technical integrity of the wells. Adhering to the global and local Technical Standards.
- Verify that all Contractors adhere to and are fully aware of SEIC’s well control policy and procedures.
- Provide guidance and technical assistance to Night Drilling Supervisor and Offshore Drilling Engineer.
- Responsible for the development of Assistant Drilling Supervisor and Offshore Drilling Engineer.

Planning

- To co-ordinate with DE, NDSV and Logistics the timely supply of required materials, equipment, consumables and specialist services to ensure uninterrupted continuation of operations.
- Is actively involved in ‘Pre-Spud’ meetings and Drilling the Well on Paper (DWOP) and other planning meetings with HOD’s.
- Attend Onshore meetings to assist in the investigation of incidents or close out meetings.
- Assist in the communication between Russian and expatriate staff. Also interface where necessary with platform departments and both drilling and service contractor personnel.
- Follow the management of change procedure and report any deviations to the program and/or non-planned events to the SWEO.

Reporting

- To provide continuous, accurate, clear and concise information to the SWE Operations on any aspect of the rig operation and when necessary on continuous twenty-four (24) hours per day basis.
- Monitor and report well site cost daily.
- Verify and sign off Job Ticket for work performed at well site.
- Supervise the quality of data recorded in the End Of Well Report.
- Responsible for the creation of all wellsite reports and verification of the data. Ensure accuracy of the data and timely close out of reports. Also responsible for the timely sending and quality of the EDM morning report.

Performance

- Support and instill the rDTL culture on the rig and buy into target setting with a clear consideration of Operational and HSE risks
- To intervene and drive performance when significant problems are encountered. Provide guidance and assistance to the contractor staff to overcome the problems or expedite operations.
- Maintain a proactive interest in the operation and optimize performance.
- Capture and fully record all NPT events. Investigate and close out route cause, lessons and recommendations in EDM.
- Communicate learnings and advise on potential areas of performance improvement or improved value to the SWEO.
- Coordinate end of section ‘After Action Reviews’ and ensure all lessons are captured from service personnel.
- To foster good teamwork via effective management and communication.

3. Professional skills and competences:

- SEIC HSE Standards and Requirements
- RF, Industry and SEIC Standards and Requirements applicable to Well Construction and Workover
- Russian Federation Safety Rules and Regulations for Oil and Gas Industry
- Russian Federation Labor Protection Regulations
- Applicable SEIC Emergency Procedures
- A deep understanding of HSE MS, Well Engineering and offshore Drilling Operations
- Well engineering
- Drilling Equipment (Drill String, Bits and Coreheads)
- Drilling Operations (Drilling hydraulics, Casing and Cementing, Directional drilling, Borehole surveying)
- Drilling engineering (Drilling fluids, Casing design, Drilling Well Control, Advanced Well Technology, Underbalanced drilling)
- Should be in the possession of a current IWCF Well Control certificate.
- Have experience integrating technical and business activities on multi-discipline projects. The experience should include supervision of technical activities
- Maintain the minimum safety certification required to execute the job. (HUET, Medical, H2S, ISSOW, RTN Certification, etc)
- Be responsible for own development and will execute a personal development plan agreed by the Well Delivery Team Leader.
- Shell Round 2 or equivalent level by competency assessment.
