Piping Engineer

Major Accountabilities:

• Review and approval of the detail design deliverables from project engineering contractors including but not limited to; layout drawings, piping general arrangements, piping material specifications, piping design standards, MTO’s for valve & fittings, and stress analysis reports.
• Support procurement with technical analysis and vendor selection for piping and valves.
• Review Supplier documentation for compliance with project/international specifications and rules.
• Ensures interaction with other disciplines for all interfaces and effectively co-ordinates piping engineering activities with the project contractors.
• Ensures all discipline work is executed in accordance with the project quality requirements.
• Provide discipline status report to the engineering manager.
• Must have the ability to recognize and to understand core issues and develop solutions in a step-by-step and systematic way.
• Responses to technical queries from engineering and installation contractors.

Specific Job Knowledge:

• Proficient knowledge of the latest applicable international engineering codes and standards, industry design practices and quality standards related to material selection in the Oil and Gas Industry.
• Good understanding of pipe support design and stress analysis techniques.
• Expert knowledge of 3D modelling design and 2D drafting activities
• Facilitating 3D model / construction reviews.
• Proficient knowledge of piping engineering packages such as Caesar II, PDMS/ PDS, AUTOCAD and MS Office Suite.   

What we are looking for:

• Requires the necessary communication skills to successfully work in a team environment as a leader and communicate effectively with other disciplines.
• Minimum 12 years of related work experience, including supervisory experience. 
• Proficient experience in the Offshore Oil and Gas industry with ability to develop solutions to engineering problems.
• Ability to effectively communicate and present complex issues and report to senior level management.
• Ability to persuade and influence. Participative management style with a cooperative team approach.
