Position: Field Service Engineer (controls)

Principal Accountabilities:

1. Represent the Power Generation Services.
2. Ensure customer’s expectations are met in a professional, timely and cost effective manner;
3. The ability to solve problems through engineering analysis and troubleshooting;
4. Complete site tasks, reporting and monitoring all issues and where necessary liasing with other engineering functions, within the assignment areas.
5. Supervise and control the commissioning and setting to work on site of any Company or associate company supplied equipment, assuring its compliance with all engineering, design and quality standards, and implementing necessary modifications.
6. Attend sites worldwide (often at short notice) to diagnose, rectify and report on customers operational problems, ensuring the equipment is left in a safe operational condition.
7. Evaluate, and then recommend solutions on, design and installation problems encountered at the customer’s site on all Company and associate company’s supplied equipment.
8. Support third party contractors within different projects to ensure that the project schedule is not impacted by related engineering issues
9. Ensure all changes are entered into the system, giving a full account of the problem, the need for change, and any possible/implemented solution.
10. Carry out the maintenance and service procedures on customers equipment
11. Recommending to the customers any actions that need attention, and advising on the next inspection or repair
12. Co-ordinate and implement the strip of engines and power turbines on the customer sites or local overhaul base. Investigate the cause of rejection, its impact on the fleet and report recommendations and findings.
13. Ensure the rebuild and the installation is completed based on Company technical and quality assurance standards and leave the unit in safe operational condition.
14. Undertake site surveys of the customer operation; recommending the necessary changes to his operating pattern, maintenance procedures, spares holdings, training requirements and the implementation of modifications to improve the reliability and availability of his equipment.
15. Establish and report technical information required for defect investigation and fault diagnostic reports. Advising on the need for service bulletins, technical instructions, and service manual amendments.
16. Report revisions required to manuals and other technical documentation, due to modifications or changes made on site, to satisfactorily achieve our contractual and quality standards.
17. Provide on site training to ensure the customer is fully conversant in the safe operation and maintenance of his installed equipment, and its associated software.
18. Undertake a structured and continuous programme of training on the company’s new products, to ensure his competence in the commissioning, maintenance and operation of new equipment.
19. Organize and attend meetings with the customer to review his operational and technical problems, using professional judgment in recommending solutions within mutually agreed time scales.
20. At all times uphold the quality and integrity of Company and its associate company partners.

EHS Responsibilities:

Company Field Service Engineers have a duty to themselves, their colleagues, the community and the environment, to work in a safe and environmentally responsible manner ensuring that they:

 Take action to prevent work-related accidents, ill health and environmental incidents
 Report EHS near misses, unsafe acts and conditions immediately
 Suggest areas for improvement to managers and supervisors
 Report all EHS incidents however minor to supervision
 Assist in the assessment of Risk
 Follow the EHS rules relating to their job
 Use the control measures, protective clothing, equipment and devices in order to conduct their assignment in a safe manner
 Co-operate in screening and health surveillance procedures as required
 Co-operate with all EHS instructions & procedures

Experience and Qualifications:

• Achieved academic qualification
• Proficiency with control systems or mechanical expertise and ideally experienced within the Rotating equipment / Oil and Gas / Power Generation industry
• Proven technical and analytical capability
• Demonstrated experience in a customer facing role
• Knowledge of Company products is preferred (rotating equipment)
• Thoroughly PC and IT literate
• Recognized HS&E certification
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to interact at a reasonably high level
• Fluent in written and spoken Azeri, English and Russian.
