Job Title: Cost Engineer
Location: Azerbaijan, Onshore

A vacancy has arisen externally for a Cost Engineer position as part of the Onshore Business Unit and is available for Azerbaijani citizens only.

Reporting to the designated Maintenance Team Leader, the Cost Engineer is responsible for the provision of a proactive cost management service for specific projects within Turan Drilling and Engineering Company work scopes.

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

To assist the Maintenance Team Leader with the following categories of work as directed:

• Ensure quality monthly cost reports are produced for specific E&P contracts for both internal and external Clients.
• Contribute, where necessary, to monthly contract and accounts review meetings.
• Ensure smooth running of project cost management, dealing with ad-hoc issues and escalating to Maintenance Team Leader/Finance Manager where necessary.
• Check project estimates from a cost perspective to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Input to project estimates at the compilation stage on as required basis.
• Prepare backup for monthly invoices related to project scope.
• Review, prepare and report upon outstanding ESWO’s on a monthly basis.
• Attend Monthly Profit and Loss (P&L) Review Meetings and Monthly Contract Review Meetings, as directed by Finance and Administration Manager.
• Report performance of cost reporting function on monthly basis against targets.
• Interface with other functions to assist cost management process.
• Travel to Jobsites & Client offices, as required.
• Maintain & engender good Client relationships at all times.
• Provide auditable back-up in a consistent manner for all cost calculations. This is known as ‘self-audit’ methodology.
• Maintain project cost control filing system in accordance with the project/corporate numbering system, where appropriate.
• Participate in project specific cost control audits as required by senior management.

Key Skills/Qualifications:

• Recognised qualification related to the discipline.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Good level of verbal and written English language.
• High level of verbal and written Azerbaijani language.
• Experience in a similar role.
• SAP experience required.
• Microsoft excel experience essential.
• Commitment to safe working practices, policies and legislation.
• Well-developed communication and organisational skills with a structured approach.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• High degree of integrity, ability to work with sensitive data and maintain trust and confidentiality.
• Accuracy and attention to details.
• Ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with people in course of work.
