Job Title: Data Performance Engineer

Location: Azerbaijan, Onshore

A future potential vacancy has arisen externally for a Data Performance Engineer position as part of the Onshore Business Unit and is available for Azerbaijani citizens only.

The Data Performance Engineer will be part of the Performance Team reporting to the Rig Optimisation Engineer and is responsible for the identification, development and implementation of performance enhancement measures and developing data analytic systems, which will allow the Performance Team to drill deeper into rig site data using smart data systems to improve operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

• Utilise existing data, knowledge and tools to design and maintain PowerBI dashboards. Awareness of databases and basic command structures is beneficial to support performance analysis.
• Filter and clean data by reviewing reports, data entries and adhere to Company Performance Team methods and processes for monitoring performance indicators to locate and assist in correcting problems.
• Efficient in reporting and reading statistical trends as part of overarching performance monitoring, may be required to present results to internal and external teams.
• Work with the Performance Team to prioritize business and information needs.
• Locate and define new process improvement opportunities

Key Skills/Qualifications:

• Recognized qualification related to the discipline in Oil and Gas industry.
• Advanced level of English both written and spoken.
• Good computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques.
• Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc.), databases (SQL etc.), programming (XML, JavaScript, or ETL frameworks).
• Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analysing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc.).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of
information with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings.
• University Graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, or Applied Math.
• Experience with databases and data collection systems.
• Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, Java, C++, Scala, etc. is desirable.
