JOB TİTLE: HEALTH SAFETY ENVIRONMENT MANAGER

Position Summary / Job Responsibilities:

o HSE Policies, Standards, systems, rules, guidelines etc.
o Work with other Department Managers to capture their specific department HSE hazards, assist in the assessment of risk and identification of risk controls and document the outcomes
o Ensure Monthly, Quarterly and Annual HSE Reports are submitted to Perseus corporate and the government (as required) on time each month and to standard
o Oversee the required environmental and occupational health monitoring programs and analyses results when received
o Ensure site Noticeboards have current and relevant HSE information displayed, including Incident Alerts, Site Safety Committee Meeting Minutes etc.
o Work with the Security Department to ensure the site access process is adhered to at all times by all personnel on site
o Ensure there is participation from all departments and contractors in all emergency response exercises involving the site Emergency Management Team
o Ensure all HSE Department documentation is in the appropriate location on the site server and are named appropriately and include the version number and date
o Ensure only the most current versions of HSE documents are accessible to site personnel
o Analyses incident trends monthly and report any trends in the site monthly report
o Ensure the HSE department conducts 100% of planned Workplace Inspections each month and ensure findings are formally documented and communicated to relevant stakeholders
o Ensure an alcohol test is conducted on all involved operators following any equipment or vehicle incident
o Ensure all corrective and preventative actions identified through the HSE Department activities on site are documented, communicated and managed to facilitate timely completion.
o Deliver on HSE project objectives in accordance with project budget and project schedule

Required Technical Skills:

o Tertiary qualifications in an HSE
o Minimum of 10 years in mine site HSE or environmental management roles,
o 5 years in HSE Manager or Superintendent role
o Experience in managing mine site HSE function/s in developing countries
o Computer literate in the basic Microsoft Office programs
o Experience in developing and implementing HSE management system initiatives
o Exposure to managing contractor HSE performance on operating sites
o Qualifications in Workplace Training and Assessment
o Lead Auditor qualifications for HSE management system Standards
o Incident Investigation qualifications
o English language skills
o Experience in databases for incident management and corrective actions management
o Experience in overseeing environmental monitoring programs and land rehabilitation
o Prior participation in, or management of, mine site Emergency Response Teams
