The primary role of the HSE Coordinator is to be part of the HSE team of the Company to maintain continuous monitoring of the work places to ensure compliance with the Safety and Health Management System.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain continuous monitoring of the work places and take action accordingly during operations to ensure compliance with the Safety and Health Management System
• Provides coaching and training to company employees and contractors work force in establishing healthy HSE MS
• Assist to Project Managers in maintaining good housekeeping on board of vessel under his charge
• Conduct firefighting and execute rescue operation during emergency. Render first aid treatment when required
• Ensure Project is equipped with adequate firefighting and safety equipment, and firefighting equipment provided on board is kept in good working condition
• Identify potential hazards at the workplace and take appropriate actions to eliminate the hazards
• Conduct preliminary incident investigation and submit report to the HSE Manager
• Maintenance of firefighting and safety equipment such as life buoy, life jacket, safety poster and signboards, tally boxes and access tag board
• Inspect physically with the applicant of hot-work permit, the area of intended hot work, especially in compartments or pipelines, which contain or have contained explosive or flammable substances. Accept or reject application and report to HSE Manager
• Certifies hot work under the permit-to-work system
• Report to the Senior HSE coordinator and assist in the daily safety enforcement on board vessel under his charge
• Ensure hazardous operations conducted between different trades or contractors are properly co-ordinated and carried out safely
• Carry out regularly safety patrol and fire prevention in operation areas
• Perform firefighting/rescue and oil pollution operations when the need arises
• Monitor confined space works.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree
• 1-2 years of relevant work experience in a similar position. Experience in marine industry is an added advantage.

Key requirements

• Able to converse/write in both English and Azeri
• Knowledge of local HSE legislation and main requirements of international standards, management systems on HSE (e.g. ISO 14001, OSHAS 18001)
• Good understanding and application of HSE procedures and Project requirements for all project phases
• Able to interact and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
• Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
• Good planning and organizational skills.
