Junior Business Incubation Expert

Ekvita is looking for Junior Business Incubation Expert for the EU project.

The expected timing (implementation period) of the assignment will be 20 days between July and September 2019.

The overall objective of the Project launched on 7 May 2019, is to contribute to business development, employment generation across all economic regions of Azerbaijan and to raise rural livelihoods and the quality of life in rural areas. The purpose of this contract is to support Ministry of Economy and its relevant structures to provide improved support for entrepreneurship and SME development in rural areas.

Specific responsibilities

The objective of the assignment is to carry out an operational assessment and draft recommendations for improvement of business incubators:

• Carrying out a review of all available background information, including manuals, agreements, reports, records, previous studies, publications, policy documents and legal instruments;
• Conducting face-to face interviews/surveys with staffs of ministries, incubator staff, stakeholders and selected incubator tenants;
• Carrying out visits to existing incubator programmes;
• Preparation of concepts for entrepreneurship development, staff development and management, mentor and expert pool development;
• Preparation of a networking strategy (with scientific research centers, labs, equipment, investors, etc.);
• Preparation of a commercialization strategy (funding, investors, markets, high tech and innovations, etc.);
• Preparation of a SWOT analysis, an assessment and recommendations for future actions.

The result of the above-mentioned tasks involves Questionnaires and surveys analysis report, Operational assessment of Business Incubators, key findings and recommendations.

Candidate Requirements

• University degree in a related subject
• Good command of spoken and written English
• Minimum 5 years of professional working experience
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the area of business incubation
• Working experience in an EU funded project
