Position: Rigger-Slinger                                                       

Job Type Full-time
Job Location: Azerbaijan/Baku

Responsibilities

- Contribute to risk assessments and lift planning
- Inspect equipment and loads before use
- Check for potential dropped objects
- Select and securely attach lifting accessories
- Connect/disconnect loads
- Remain in communication with relevant personnel
- Ensure the loads is free to lift
- Inform Banksman when the load is connected to and disconnected from the lifting appliance
- Control the lift area
- Maintain a safe position
- Use tag lines/handling tools correctly
- Pack and secure cargo
- De-rig, inspect and store equipment

As a part of the lift team, Rigger/Slinger will have to follow instructions from:

- The PIC; for example a Deck Foreman / C Supv / LCP / CP / AP, who has direct control of the lifting operation and the lift team
- A Competent Person; for example a LCP / CP / AP, who is responsible for producing / implementing the Safe System of Work
- Supervisors’ for example a Lifting Supervisor, who has overall responsibility for the lifting operations

Requirements

- Banksman/slinger and rigging/lifting certification to BS EN 7121 standard
- FHN certification Grade 5 or 6
- Minimum 3 years’ experience on same role
