Job Title : Mechanical/Piping Engineer

Purpose of Job 

Perform a variety of Mechanical and Piping Engineering tasks by applying standard engineering techniques and analysis.  The Engineer at this level has experience and an increasing proficiency in the utilisation of engineering theories and practices, and Company procedures. This would include international codes including ASME, ASTM codes of practice and BP engineering specifications. Typical work assignments require a broader understanding of oil and gas process and utilities systems in addition to knowledge of equipment items.

Responsibilities

• To continue to develop an appreciation of the fundamental principles of working in a design office, in a project environment.
• To develop an appreciation for basic engineering principles (as relevant to the projects available at the time), the governing codes and practices, and the quality and safety policies for these activities.
• To gain a broad overview of design and consultancy requirements in the Oil & Gas industry, and the principles associated with designing and operating hydrocarbon facilities (upstream and downstream, including offshore). 
• To implement mechanical and piping engineering activities.
• Responsible for personal safety and safe working practices. 
• To continue developing an appreciation for applying industry design guidelines
• To demonstrate a proactive and enthusiastic approach to learning from peers and senior team members.
• To perform any other duties that are reasonably required from time to time

Job Requirements:

• Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent preferably recognised by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, UK
• Minimum 3 years experience in an engineering position in hydrocarbons sector
• Basic knowledge of ASME B31.3 above ground piping design
• To be familiar with piping stress analysis using CAESAR II.
• Basic understanding of AIV and FIV calculations and assessments, piping and equipment layout
• Knowledge of valve design codes; API 6D, API 594, API 598, API 600, API 607, API 608, API 609.
• Basic design and fabrication experience with ASME VIII Div.1 and Div. 2 pressure vessels, columns and heat exchangers and has preferably used PV Elite and Nozzle-Pro software.
• Familiar with design fabrication and construction of API 650, API 653 fixed and floating roof large storage tanks.
• Basic understanding in specifying, sizing and the procurement and installation of the following gas compressors; API 617 Centrifugal, API 618 Reciprocating, and API 619 Screw compressors.
• Experience with sizing, specifying, procurement and installation of API 610 liquid pumps and the associated API 682 mechanical seals systems
• Ability to communicate in both Azerbaijani and English languages
