PSCM Specialist
Main Responsibilities:
Compares prices amongst various vendors in order to make sound purchasing decisions.
Meets with various vendors to obtain information about products and services like prices, availability and delivery schedules.
Reviews bids and proposals and meets with vendors to negotiate contracts that meet the company’s budgetary limitations.
Procures goods and services for a company like supplies, parts, equipment, tools, raw materials, various services and other things necessary for the operation of the business.
Maintains electronic or hard copy records of all purchases made for the company including the cost, delivery details, quality or the product or service and current inventories.
Teams with quality control personnel to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and meets with vendors to resolve such problems.
Works within a given budget to purchase goods and services for an organization.
Ensures that products are delivered in a timely manner, and that the quality of the goods received is satisfactory.
Negotiates with contractors on price, mode of shipping, and delivery time.
Orders goods such as office supplies on a continuing basis in order to maintain certain inventory levels.
Checks invoices for accuracy, and authorizes the accounts payable department to issue payment.
Evaluates the performance of certain vendors in order to decide whether or not to continue buying from them.
Inventories items in order to determine which ones need to be purchased.
Enters data concerning inventory and order amounts into a computer database.
The candidate is expected to demonstrate the following traits during the execution of the scope:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Possesses strong negotiation skills
Has good verbal communications skills
Is timely in following up on contracts and checking on backordered items.
Is capable of staying within a given budget.
Has good math skills and is quickly able to calculate the cost of goods and services.
Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
Strong SAP knowledge and experience.
Employment type: permanent
Working environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Job type and working hours: This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
