Process Safety Engineer
Purpose / Role
Support new project by providing guidance on process safety for new designs and performing safety reviews.
Responsibilities and duties:
• Preparing and executing process safety activities and deliverables including HSE Philosophies, HSE Plans, consequence modelling, HAZOP, HAZID and SIL.
• Provide Process Safety Engineering support to the site
• Project safety reviews such as electrical area classification, fire hazard zone drawings, safety relief and flare calculations, facility siting studies
• Complete process safety reviews and develop recommendations for addressing process safety issues
• Provide risk assessment through the use of risk analysis techniques and tools
• Maintain and apply knowledge of current policies, regulations, and industrial processes
• Conduct optimization/sizing evaluation for protection of process equipment
• Provision of advanced expert advice on optimal protection system by reviewing the operation, performance and layers of protection concept.
Qualifications/Training Essential:
• Minimum of 10 years of experience
• Experience within an engineering contractor or consultancy, operator, or other relevant organization
• Experience of working in the process industry and energy, oil and gas, refining and petrochemical sectors
• Familiar with hazard identification, risk analyses and assessment methodologies
• Familiar with Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) requirements and methodologies.
• Familiar with Facility Siting and Human Factors requirements.
• Knowledge of various Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices related to process safety. Familiar with Facility Siting and Human Factors requirements.
• Familiar with the many forms of Process Safety Information (PSI), how PSI is used in operating facilities, and how it should be maintained.
• Knowledge of various Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP) related to process safety. An understanding of how dispersion, fire and explosion modeling is used.
Job type: full-time
Working hours: Monday-Friday, 08:30 – 17:30, 5 working days a week.
