Job Title: Senior Mechanic

Location: Offshore Rig, Azerbaijan

A vacancy available only for Azerbaijan citizens has arisen for a Senior Mechanic who is responsible to report to the Maintenance Supervisor for the maintenance of all mechanical equipment within KCA DEUTAG scope / area of responsibility and for the health and safety of all persons under their authority.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (but not be limited to)

• Ensure that all mechanical equipment is maintained and repaired promptly.
• Carry out and record the maintenance tasks specified by the computerised maintenance system.
• Bring to the attention of the KCAD maintenance supervisor any matters relating to the safe mechanical operation of the Drilling packages and associated platform utilities.
• Ensure that all equipment under their control complies with statutory requirements and is maintained at all times in a safe condition or is otherwise completely withdrawn from service.
• Plan maintenance and repair tasks so as to minimise the effect on the drilling operation.
• Report any misuse of equipment to the Maintenance supervisor.
• Liaise with maintenance supervisor and materials coordinators to ensure that an adequate supply of mechanical spare parts is maintained on the installation and is stored in environmentally sound conditions.
• Attend, at Group base or Client premises, meetings and additional training, as may be required.
• Carry out tasks as part of a multi-discipline maintenance team as operational requirements dictate.
• Be fully conversant in the MAXIMO system.
• Ensure that health and safety at work and accident prevention are continuously brought to the attention of all employees under their authority particularly by means of job supervision, instruction and training.
• Update or modify any drawings, sketches or information on existing and replacement equipment as required or provide such information to area management.
• Report any misuse of equipment to the Rig Superintendent.
• Safeguard the rig tools and instruments in their care.
• Ensure that an adequate supply of mechanical spare parts is maintained on the installation and is stored in environmentally sound conditions.
• Ensure that all the Group's reporting system data sheets are completed e.g. Maintenance/Repair/Replacement job cards.
• Carry out tasks as part of a multi-discipline maintenance team as operational requirements dictate.
• Stand-in for alternative work discipline as required.
• Complete any other reasonable tasks as delegated by Line Supervisor.
• Attend, at Group base or Client premises, meetings and additional training, as may be required.
• Have previous experience in decommissioning operations & current training in cutting boring & pinning operations.

Educational and Experience Requirements

• High school
• Recognised industry apprenticeship
• 3 years as Mechanic and 2 years as senior Rig Mechanic

Other Special Requirements

• Good English language skills    
• Experienced within ISSOW permit to work system
• Good communication skills
• Microsoft Office literate
• Be able to work in an integrated maintenance team
• To be adaptable and be able to be able to be decisive
• Proven good safety ethic
• Experience of CMMS, i.e. SAP, Maximo
