JOB TITLE:  TAX ACCOUNTANT

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Timely preparation and submission of the statutory tax reports including VAT return, WHT, Foreign Subcontractors’ WHT, Personal Income Tax, Profit Tax, Property Tax and other reports as required;
• Ensure timely payment of all taxes and duties;
• Calculation of local taxes of Expatriate payroll;
• Timely preparation and submission of Statistical reports as required;
• Preparation of local VAT invoices (Hesab-Faktura) for customers as required;
• Coordinate off-site and on-site tax audits;
• Handle all requests of the tax authorities and communicate such requests to the Financial Controller and Finance Manager;
• Maintain correspondence with the tax authorities - daily review of the electronic tax inbox and preparation of reply letters to various inquiries and requests from the tax authorities;
• Keep abreast of current developments in the tax area and inform the Financial Controller and Finance Manager about any significant changes and their potential impact over operations;
• Ensure proper accounting for PSA/ non-PSA revenue and expenses;
• Ensure proper recognition, depreciation and tax accounting of fixed assets;
• Prepare tax reconciliations for balances held in JDE;
• Perform year-end accrual review and prepare the tax provision.
• Research process errors that caused incorrect tax filings and communicate them to the Financial Controller and Finance Manager;
• Assist with the requests of external auditors;
• To prepare ad hoc reports as and when required by the Finance Manager and/or Financial Controller.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or any other related field;
• 3-5 years of experience in the area of accounting and taxation;
• Sound knowledge of statutory and PSA taxation in Azerbaijan, experience with tax reporting;
• Fluent English and Azerbaijani, knowledge of Russian is an advantage;
• Professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA) is an advantage, but not must;
• Experience with accounting software is an advantage;
• Good skills to Intermediate level in Microsoft products, knowledge of tax reporting software.
