The British Embassy in Azerbaijan is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking for a Locally Engaged full-time Corporate Services Officer, A2 based in Baku.

The position of a full-time Corporate Services Officer will assist the Embassy’s Corporate Services section to manage the areas of Maintenance and Estates, Procurement, Logistics and Freight and Staff Management amongst other duties.

Main Duties/ Responsibilities:

Maintenance and Estates
• Plan, organise and supervise office and residential maintenance;
• Implement Health and Safety recommendations including related checks and inspections;
• Manage UK based staff accommodation and support arrivals and departures;
• Maintain property leases, contracts, work orders and manage landlord liaison;
• Liaise with regional technical team;
• Manage ring-fenced budgets;
• Chair Estates Committee including Embassy Greening initiatives.

Procurement
• Manage procurement and contracts in cooperation with the Procurement Hub;
• Manage procurement documentation and returns;
• Act as an approver for staff corporate credit cards;
• Maintain Oracle based database.

Logistics and Freight
• Facilitate documentation for incoming and outgoing freight;
• Liaise with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Aviation security, State Traffic Police and Customs;
• Provide logistical support to partner departments.

Line Management and CSM deputising
• Manage two staff members;
• Provide cover for Corporate Services Manager.

Essential qualifications and experience

• At least two years experience in procurement, contract management and accommodation maintenance;
• Excellent command of English and Azerbaijani languages (verbal and written);
• Excellent IT skills, in particular Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel;
• Proactive and motivated attitude; Self-starter with an ability to think strategically, moving from everyday detail to the bigger picture;
• Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills;
• Strong team-work skills, readiness to help colleagues and share knowledge;
• Strong customer focus;
• Results and delivery oriented;
• Able to multi-task, show flexibility and adjust to change.

Desirable qualifications

• A good level of Russian would be an advantage

Required competencies

• Making Effective Decisions, Leading and Communicating, Collaborating and Partnering, Managing a Quality Service

Terms and Conditions

This is a full-time position of five working days, 40 hours net per week, for a permanent contract. Working time is from 09h00 to 17h00.

The salary is USD 1,636.19 gross per month and shall be paid in AZN monthly.

Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy in Azerbaijan is subject to Terms and Conditions of Service of the FCO according to local labour legislation.
