Requirements:
a. A competent and suitably qualified Instrument Inspector shall be employed.
b. Instrument Inspector shall be responsible for the technical aspects of instrumentation installation operations including, but not necessarily limited to, the following:
• Familiar with the project specifications and all documentation associated with Instrumentation equipment, e.g. procedures, method statements, datasheets, vendor documentation, maintenance and operations procedures and manuals
• Perform receipt inspection of instrumentation and issue Equipment Inspection Reports, and follow them up to satisfactory closure
• Periodic Inspection of instrumentation to be installed
• Periodic inspection of installed tubing, hosing, cabling, glanding, terminations
• Periodic inspection of cabinet / station / instrument / connection and termination, glanding, earthing and neatness, penetration sealing and instrument / tubing / cable identification
• Checking of installation practices and quality of installation, alignment, level and orientation
• Pre-run checking and punch-listing of equipment, system and component shortfalls
• Cleanliness preparation of instrumentation tubing prior to testing
• Witness pressure / leak / integrity testing of instrument tubing systems
• Circuit testing preparation and witness pre-commencement power / signal checks
• Perform inspection of all equipment during equipment pre-commissioning
• Prepare and review test documentation, submit results to Certification Engineers
• Provision of daily summary report, weekly report input and monthly report inputs to line manager.
c. The minimum experience and qualification level for the Instrument Inspector should be:
Engineer holding as a minimum a degree in engineering, technical sciences and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in the offshore platform fabrication industry is considered to be essential.
