Diesel engine mechanic (offshore)
The diesel engine mechanic will primarily work on large industrial diesel engines typically used on drilling rigs.
Key responsibilities:
Maintain and troubleshoot, turbine compressors, generators, air/gas/diesel generators, compressors etc.;
Make repairs on diesel engines used on drilling rigs;
Perform preventative maintenance tasks according to CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) of SOCAR-AQS;
Ensure that all tools and test equipment are fully serviceable prior to start of repair work and are fully accounted for after each repair;
Examine engineering drawings (pneumatic diagrams and schemes) of mechanical parts, assemblies, and installations;
List parts to be replaced referring to manufacturer's manuals and diagrams;
Keep work area neat and clean. Use personal protective equiment and follow SOCAR-AQS HSE procedures as required.
General requirements:
• Bachelor degree on mechanical engineering
• Minimum 3 years of work experience
• Excellent diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing knowledge of diesel engines
• Strong analytical skills
• Computer literacy
