Job title: OSS System Administrator
Department: Operations, Services & Quality Assurance
Line Manager: Head of Tools
Education: BSC Electronics, Computer Science or equivalent experience
Work experience: Area and Length + 2 years of IT environments
Languages Skills: English, with Azeri/Russian an advantage
Advantageous Computer skills:
1. Server Systems Administration (Linux, Unix, Windows)
2. RDBMS Administration (Oracle, MS-SQL, MySQL)
3. Network management and administration (IP, Switches, Routers etc.)
4. Backup Systems and/or Software Management
5. Basic knowledge for scripting in UX systems
Excellent knowledge for MS Office
Personal skills: Self-starter with strong, proactive personality, and good problem-solving skills
Main responsibilities
(Main, essential, regular tasks & duties to be done. Responsibilities for team, processes & programs coordination and management)
1. Ensure the performance and quality of the technical platform, servers etc. Including daily health checks and routine maintenance
2. Control data flow from the network to the Network Management System and plan the corrections and extensions to the Network Management System Platform accordingly
3. Prepare action plans for future software and hardware upgrades in the Network Management System
4. Co-operate with Network Operation Center personnel to assist in system fault resolution
Train other personnel in the use of the Network Management System and its features
Second responsibilities: 1) Support Process Management with OSS process interface know-how
2) Support general OSS improvement lifecycle through feedback from users
Special professional skills: Knowledge of eTOM and/or ITIL, Understanding of Telecommunications Operations Environments
