Accommodation Volunteer and Workforce Client Services Team Manager
Purpose
The accommodation team is responsible for securing the accommodation for the Games Families, dignitaries, marketing partners, press, broadcasters, NOC’s and sporting federations consisting of some 10 000 rooms per night.
The Accommodation Volunteer and Workforce Client Services Team Manager will lead the team in this demanding area to ensure the well-being and happiness of the volunteer staff in the run up to and during the European Games 2015.
Key accountabilities
• Assist in the recruitment of the volunteer workforce
• Prepare training manuals for the volunteers
• Conduct training sessions to volunteers
• Schedule efficient rosters for all volunteers
• Maintain roster changes
• Provide first point of contact for the volunteer enquiries
• Manage, motivate and lead the team to produce a happy , efficient and motivated workforce
• Manage attrition throughout the period
o Liaison with the media village to assist with staffing requirements
o Interaction with the workforce team
o Assist with test events
o Manage workforce/contractors accommodation allocations of approximately 4 000 rooms per night
Knowledge, experience and qualifications required
• Fluent written and spoken English
• Excellent communication skills
• Proven track record of managing and leading a team
• Experience of handling large group bookings
• A strong focus on customer service
• An ability to solve problems under pressure
• Displays highest level of commitment
• Scheduling experience
• Experience of working on a major sporting event an advantage
• Team player who can work on their own initiative
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse client group and wide range of function areas
