JOB TITLE: Estimator

Today, about 10,000 professionals around the globe support the need of customers with a coordinated range of customized solutions centered around access solutions, insulation and corrosion protection.  We support our customers in Azerbaijan with access solutions, insulation, corrosion protection, and specialist services. Hertel Azerbaijan is working for customers in the Oil and Gas industry.

We’re looking for a candidate for the position of Estimator for construction site located at the territory of Baku Deep Water Jackets Factory named after Heydar Aliyev.

Job responsibilities:

• Preparing bids/offers to the client for future works on site.
• Responsible for compiling estimates of how much it will cost to provide a client with services.
• Working out how much a project is likely to cost and create budgets accordingly.
• Involves assessing material, labour and equipment required and analysing different quotes from sub-contractors and suppliers.
• Work from a bill of quantities (the document outlining the basics of the work to be done) or just a set of drawings from the client.
• Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and requirements; setting priorities.
• Prepares construction budget by studying drawings; updating specifications; identifying and projecting costs for each scope.
• Evaluates offers to purchase by costing changes, additions, and site requirements.
• Obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying qualified subcontractors; negotiating price.
• Resolves cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
• Maintains quality service by following organization standards.
• Maintains continuity among corporate, division, and local work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

Requirements

Education/Qualifications:

• Technical university degree is preferable.
• 3 year experience in relevant field.
• Fluent in Azerbaijani and English (both verbal and written)
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office package, especially MS Excel.

• Excellent documentation skills.

• Perform assignments with limited supervision.
• The ability to work in an honest and reliable manner.
