1. PROJECT BACKGROUND

Project title:

Improve governance and management of protected areas system in Azerbaijan
The goal of this project is to create model national parks in Azerbaijan, with good governance and efficient management, which can be replicated in other parts of the country, and across the region. We propose to do this through improving capacity of park personnel, establishing partnership with successful national parks in the region, implementing sustainable tourism development strategies, and creating social and economic opportunities for communities on the periphery of protected areas. For achieving the expected results, the following activities will be implemented by the end of the project:

Project results:

1. Capacity of national park personnel significantly improved 

2. Strategic partnership established with successful national parks in the region.

3. Sustainable tourism development strategy implemented in both national parks.

4. Social and economic opportunities created for local communities.

2. Major Functions of the Web Designer:

Summary: The purpose of this position is to create web pages for Shahdag and Shirvan National Parks. Web pages have to be user / tourist friendly e-promotional product. The web pages goal is to increase visitation in order to generate enough revenue to support park’s internal needs in the Shahdag and Shirvan area and make the parks’ eco-tourism sustainable.

3. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Creating web page/s for Shahdag and Shirvan NP based on sustainable tourism concept and corporative design;
• Plans and structuralize site design;
• Protects site by designing and installing security precautions;
• Make recommendations on changes to the current cooperative design designed by Marketing Consultant.
