Job Opening: WWF Azerbaijan Director

From its origins as a small group of committed wildlife enthusiasts, WWF has grown into one of the world's largest and most respected independent conservation organizations – supported by 5 million people and active in over 100 countries on five continents.
 
WWF is looking for a motivated, energetic, competent manager to lead its branch office in Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijan Office represents WWF in Azerbaijan and has the responsibility for ensuring delivery of WWF’s programme in the country.

Location/Contract Details:

The Director of WWF Azerbaijan office reports to the Director of WWF Caucasus and will be based in the WWF Azerbaijan office premises in Baku, Azebaijan.  

Main responsibilities:

The Director of WWF Azerbaijan builds and leads a dynamic team and develops a strong organization delivering significant conservation results. S/he leads the development and implementation of WWF strategy in Azerbaijan, in the context of WWF Caucasus strategies and of the WWF Network Development strategy; builds and manages WWF Azerbaijan structure and operations ensuring performance and accountability according to WWF standards; develops and implements the office fundraising strategy; represents WWF and builds partnerships across the country and network.

What you need:

The ideal candidate has a proven track-record of successfully building and managing organizations, including administration and human resources management, with a demonstrated success in managing multi-functional teams and with excellent people management skills and a passion for building and enabling teams to deliver strategic goals. S/he has proven experience in fundraising from a wide range of donors.  Candidates should have good knowledge and experience of the social, political and economic context of the Caucasus region and a good understanding of environmental conservation and sustainable development. Excellent communication and diplomatic skills and fluency in local languages and fluency in spoken and written English and Russian are required. Candidates should demonstrate a high moral stature and adherence to WWF values: Knowledgeable, Optimistic, Determined and Engaging.
