Requirements:

A competent and CSWIP 3.1 qualified Welding Inspector shall be employed. Minimum relevant experience 5 years.
He shall be responsible for the technical aspects of welding inspections including, but not necessarily limited to, the following:

• Inspection of all aspects of welding, assembly, fabrication
• Review of welding procedure parameters and specification requirements
• Review of welder qualification records and monitoring of welder identification on site
• Familiar self with fabrication, assembly, piping isometrics and erection drawings
• Examine materials to be welded to assure correct type, grade and size are utilised and recorded.
• Monitoring of welding consumable type, condition, control and traceability during above
• Examination of the weld preparation, configuration, set up, root gap and profile
• Liase with fabrication and welding supervision to assure all welding and fabrication parameters are adhered to during welding activities
• Monitor / perform welding audit of welding parameters during welding; amperage, voltage, technique, position, consumables, qualifications and procedural adherence
• Perform post weld visual inspection on fabrications, assemblies, welded components and structures to project stipulated procedures, specifications and noted standards
• Interpretation of NDT results including radiographic sentencing (if qualified)
• Record inspection results using stipulated proforma; provide data to certification clerks
• Provision of daily summary report, weekly report input and monthly report inputs to line manager.
