Role description:

Acquire and retain customers through the cooperation with personnel in the parts and service department. Position is responsible for the coverage, retention, development and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop territory to maximum potential for customers and company
• Promote and maintain  positive long term customer relationships in product support
o Develop a good relationship with customer to understand their business needs from technical and economical perspective
• Coverage of the specified customers in a manner defined by the company
o Perform regular customer visits and prospect and pursue parts and service opportunities
o All customer call coverage is conducted as directed
o Call reports are completed as specified by company standards and ensure timely submission of call reports
• Develop customer profile database and maintain  all required reports regarding the customers in the sales territory
o Population records with customer demographic information ( name, address, email etc) and purchases in parts, service sales and rentals, special attachments (model & s/n), machines in use and their hours of use per year
o Develop, identify and quantify new customers
o Assess customer buying habits
• Develop and maintain competitive analysis program (including “OEM distributors” and “independent contractors” to understand customer buying habits from competitors
• Development of programs to measure “market share” by geographic unit
• Monitor customer retention, develop and coordinate “customer loyalty” programs that will increase the frequency of purchase and the volume
• Perform selling function regarding undercarriage and ground engaging measurements
o Measure undercarriage systems according to specified standards
o Track and monitor ground engaging tool wear patterns
• Develop, promote and sell scheduled marketing and selling programs
o Maintenance services, inspection and appraisal programs, maintenance and repair contracts, major component rebuild programs, replacement–before failure programs,  oil sampling programs, shop cost analysis, engine and transmission testing services, machine tune-ups etc
• Develop, perform and coordinate market and opinion surveys to assess necessary information such as company sales and market position, customer satisfaction and requirements
• Develop and create all necessary sales documents and aids such as brochures, posters, promotion materials
o Create a list of products and service that is available for customer which includes future and benefits of the product and service with cost information
• Assist in coordination of service work and advise customers on parts and service matters, and dealing with equipment breakdowns, malfunctions, emergency parts orders and deliveries
• Quotes and provide estimates for repairs as required by customers
• Completes all reporting requirements as directed in a timely manner
• Performs other duties assigned by his supervisor

Required Competencies

• Preferred degree in mechanical OR electrical field;
• Minimum of  3 (three) years experience related to parts and/or service operation, preferably from construction equipment dealership or in aftermarket parts industry ;
• Product knowledge including, basic mechanics, features and benefits knowledge of all commodities sold;
• Commercially and business focus, target driven and “self-going” initiator skills ;
• Strong customer orientation and marketing understanding;
• Highly developed communication skills (both in writing and verbally, in local language & English), with a versatile, competitive and enthusiastic personality;
• Excellent computer skills using Word, Power Point, Outlook and Excel software;
• Good understanding of financial and pricing principles and discounting effects ;
• A good working knowledge of sales techniques and methodologies;
• A good knowledge of marketing statistical techniques;
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
