Project Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Function and Venue work planning: facilitate planning activity for Functions and Venue teams, ensure accurate definition of scope, lead the development of work breakdown structures with appropriate estimation of resource and schedule.
• Risk and issue management: undertake daily risk/issue identification, response planning and resolution.
• Project communications: support, and where required lead, the dissemination of project communications across teams and management of the organising committee.
• Readiness tracking: identify and document readiness objectives and cases, record case histories from the outcomes of testing and input information collected centrally onto the relational database.
• Reporting: ensure the timely and consistent reporting of progress, risks, issues and decisions – with escalation as required.
• Cross-functional projects: play a leading role in the management of projects for the purpose of cross-functional collaboration, integration or complex problem solving.

Knowledge, experience and qualifications required

• 7 + years of experience of successful project management and delivery of a wide range of complex projects at a senior level.
• Excellent interpersonal skills (written and verbal).
• Project Management certification from a recognised institution (e.g. PMI or PRINCE2).
• Familiarity with sports, entertainment and hospitality industry concepts.
• Demonstrated ability to identify problems and develop solutions.
• Structured thinker, highly organised.
• Flexible, resilient and positive through organizational growth and change.
• Proficient in Azerbaijani and English.
