Senior Financial Analyst / AzMeCo Group of Companies

Company Information:

Founded in 2007 in Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan Methanol Company (AzMeCo) is a privately owned petrochemical company. AzMeCo is a solely private company and holds an advanced position in the development, implementation and financing of leading projects in Azerbaijan and the Caspian region. AzMeCo has developed the construction and operation of a methanol plant in Azerbaijan. This is a flagship project of AzMeCo Group, located to the South from Baku in the Garadagh district with an annual production capacity of 720,000 tons. The plant completely complies with international environmental standards and has passed an environmental impact assessment by Environmental Resource Management (ERM). The construction and commissioning phases have been accomplished with the plant starting up in October 2013 and already producing high purity tradable methanol. AzMeCo has signed a long-term methanol sale, purchase and marketing agreement with BP to off-take the product via Poti on the Black Sea to the European market and potentially beyond.

Job Description / Key Deliverables:

The successful candidate will work mainly on AzMeCo’s flagship project, the Methanol Plant in Garadagh district, and deal with company’s management, project financing banks and related third parties. Furthermore, the candidate is expected to assist with financing and development stages of several potential downstream projects in petrochemical industry that AzMeCo currently plans.

Main Responsibilities:

• Carrying out financial analysis of company's historic results and projections;
• Preparing and delivering financial reports for company’s management and affiliated third parties (mainly debt financing banks);
• Dealing with large commercial and investment banks within CIS region and outside of it;
• Taking part and leading corporate valuation and annual financial audit projects for AzMeCo Methanol Plant;
• Developing financial models and feasibility studies for existing and potential future projects.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or business administration (degree from a top university abroad is a big plus)
• Minimum 3 (three) years of relevant experience in a BIG4, Bank or Financial department of a large company
• Deep knowledge of IFRS, financial planning and budgeting
• Good understanding of financial modelling, valuation techniques and financial analysis
• Advanced MS Excel, Word and Power Point; Excel VBA is desirable
• CFA, CIMA, ACCA and/or DipIFR certification is a plus
• Ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines, attentiveness to detail
• Fluency in both written and spoken Azerbaijani & English is a must; fluent Russian is desirable.
