Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling to students to address social, emotional, and behavioural concerns, and to promote positive mental health and resilience;
• Collaborate and consult with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to support the social and emotional needs of students, and to promote a positive and inclusive school culture;
• Work with parents to address student concerns, provide recommendations, and offer strategies to support social-emotional development both at school and home;
• Design and deliver training sessions and workshops for teachers, staff, and parents on SEL topics;
• Assess students' social and emotional needs, and develop and implement evidence-based interventions to support their emotional well-being and academic success;
• Use appropriate assessment tools and measures to evaluate students' social and emotional needs, and monitor progress and outcomes;
• Collaborate with the leadership team to cultivate a positive school climate and culture, reinforcing the importance of empathy, inclusion, and respect;
• Provide support and guidance in the event of a crisis or critical incident, and contribute to the development and implementation of crisis management protocols;
• Contribute to the development and review of school policies related to mental health, wellbeing, and pastoral care;
• Engage with the school community to raise awareness of mental health and wellbeing, and to promote a supportive and nurturing environment for all students.

Requirements for the candidate:

• Current registration or eligibility for registration as a psychologist;
• Fluency in English;
• Experience in delivering counseling services in a primary school setting;
• Strong knowledge of child development, mental health, and evidence-based interventions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders;
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
