Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a dynamic and inquiry-based Azerbaijani language curriculum that aligns with the PYP framework;
• Plan and deliver language instruction that promotes speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills, fostering linguistic development in students;
• Introduce students to Azerbaijani culture, traditions, and literature as an integral part of language instruction;
• Incorporate cultural elements into lessons to enhance students' understanding and appreciation of Azerbaijani heritage;
• Assess student language proficiency using formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support growth;
• Use assessment data to inform instructional decisions and adapt teaching approaches;
• Foster a love for Azerbaijani language and literature;
• Organize language enrichment activities, language clubs, cultural events, and language immersion experiences to deepen students' language skills and cultural knowledge;
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse language needs of students, including those with varying language abilities;
• Create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that celebrates linguistic and cultural diversity;
• Engage in continuous professional development related to language instruction, IB PYP principles, and best practices in education;
• Collaborate with colleagues in professional learning communities to enhance teaching practices;
• Maintain open and regular communication with parents or guardians, sharing updates on student language development and progress;
• Collaborate with parents to provide resources and suggestions for supporting their child's language learning at home.

Requirements for the candidate:

• Bachelor's degree in Azerbaijani language, linguistics, education, or a related field;
• Teaching certification or qualifications in Azerbaijani language instruction;
• Experience teaching Azerbaijani language to primary school students, especially in an IB PYP context;
• Strong knowledge of Azerbaijani language, literature, and culture;
• Fluency in English;
• Excellent communication and instructional skills, with the ability to create an engaging and inquiry-based learning environment;
• Passion for fostering language proficiency and a love for Azerbaijani language and culture among students;
• Dedication to the principles and values of the IB PYP program and a commitment to holistic education.
