Student Counsellor – Psychologist (Full-Time)

Stream: International (Cambridge) Application Requirements:

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in school counseling or psychology.
  • Advanced English language skills.
  • Minimum of 2 years professional counseling experience, preferably in an educational field.
  • Good communication, interpersonal and mediation skills.
  • Working knowledge of counseling models, methods, and resources.
  • Ability to identify and respond to students' needs.
  • Excellent listening and problem-solving skills.
  • Patient, friendly, and accommodating personality.
  • Social perceptiveness and an understanding of body language.

Main responsibilities:

  • Work with school-aged children and young adults
  • Listening to students' concerns regarding social, academic, emotional or personal circumstances.
  • Providing students with support and guidance on how to deal with problems.
  • Mediating and improving relationships between students, parents, and teachers.
  • Counseling individuals and groups as required.
  • Conducting assessments to determine students' strengths, weaknesses, interests, and aptitudes.
  • Working with students to develop and improve their skill set.
  • Meet with parents and teachers to discuss learning, behavioral, familial and social problems
  • Implementing programs to combat substance abuse
  • Evaluate and advise school disciplinary practices for troubled students
  • Promote positive behaviors
