Role & Responsibilities:

Accountant’s duties and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Support monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing processes under the accounting procedure and policy and any other relevant standards, provide support for other reporting requirements such as Balance Sheet Integrity, Intercompany Reconciliations.
  • Work on complex and challenging accounting areas requiring extensive experience to ensure the correct reporting and accounting treatment.
  • Verify and approve journal entries as appropriate.
  • Perform review of financial master data maintenance performance.
  • Reviewing monthly reconciliations for balance sheet and sub-ledger accounts.
  • Perform coaching and counseling to ensure the employees perform according to expectations and company standards.
  • Review IFRS and Statutory Reporting, prepare accounting policies and procedures and follow constant evolutions in standards and requirements. Ensure proper and accurate application.
  • Asset History Sheet management (including depreciation calculation and corresponding postings), interim and year end reconciliations and recalculation.
  • Compilation of statutory Profit Tax Reports as per related RSA (Risk Sharing Agreement) requirements. Identification of critical issues and proposal of corresponding adjustments.
  • Compilation of Cost Recovery Report. Identification of critical issues and proposal of corresponding adjustments.
  • Monitoring Control procedures to corresponding Risks to be properly implemented and operated (Test of Controls), Identification of Control Points.
  • Work closely with Business teams (Cost Control, Budgeting, Procurement, Contracts), support to ensure effective delivery, resolve issues and put in place process improvements.
  • Preparing reports for senior management presentations for the board of directors, ad-hoc analysis.
  • Support the annual audit process including coordination with external auditors to provide audit support.

Requirements:

  • Be in possession of a university degree in Accountancy, Finance or an equivalent qualification.
  • 3+ years of experience.
  • Professional qualifications in accounting and finance and previous Big4 experience are desirable.
  • Be able to work on cross-functional engagements with other departments within the company.
  • Have an excellent command of English, Azerbaijani.
  • Be self-motivated and possess strong interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a highly dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint
  • Previous experience with SAP desirable.
