PROCESS ENGINEER

- BS or MS degree in Chemical/Process Engineering.
- PE license is preferred
- Ten (10+) years of process engineering experience.
- Working knowledge of: Development of process engineering documents including Process Flow Diagram, Piping and Instrument Diagrams, Equipment Data Sheets, Instrument Data Sheets and Line Lists, Process engineering calculations including hydraulics (single and two phase) and pressure relief
- Extensive progressive experience in chemical/process engineering applying advanced engineering techniques and analysis.
- Experience in upstream and midstream Oil and Gas industry 
- Excellent strategic planning skills and able to interact with all levels. 
- Fully competent in the use of computer software – Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Power Point.
- Ability to use Microsoft Project, Visio, and AutoCAD.
- Must have project management and planning experience to prepare and execute project plans
- Excellent knowledge of English language
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work independently

Responsibilities:

o Maintains overall supervision and execution of the process design for a project.
o Is responsible for the quality and technical integrity of the process design, which includes the following major responsibilities:

- Defining scope of the process design and developing the process design basis;
- Developing and optimizing conceptual designs, process configurations, process flow diagrams and mechanical, utility and environmental flow diagrams;
- Developing process duty and performance specifications for plant equipment;
- Establishing the technical nature and quantitative basis for process performance guarantees for the plant;
- Fulfilling contractual requirements related to the process design or to the process performance guarantees;
- Initiating and assisting in licensor negotiations as required to implement the plant process design;
- Ensuring that the process design adequately provides for the safety and operability of the plant;
- Verifying that equipment being specified for purchase is checked for process design integrity;
- Provide assistance in plant checkout and/or plant startup if required;
- Establishing basic operating objectives for process control and logic for all process systems. Process provides narrative, when necessary, for sequential control systems;
- Ensuring that proprietary information is properly handled;
- Preparing operating manuals;

o Perform process design calculations and prepare heat and material balances;
o Prepare utility balances, including summary tabulations and balance diagrams of major utility systems;
o Prepare summary tabulations of technical requirements. Prepare specifications for purchase if required. Review quotations received to insure correct equipment and materials are procured;
o Prepare line sizing and flow summaries;
o Develop and issue process duty and performance specifications for all plant equipment;
o Develop basic operating objectives for process control and logic; provide Control Systems Engineering process data for sizing control valves, relief valves and orifice plates, and assist in the application of control and logic systems to meet the plant operating objectives and safety requirements;
o Develop detail, and update mechanical flow diagrams and utility, offsite, and environmental systems flow diagrams;
o Conduct flow diagram conferences with Project, Control Systems, Piping Engineering, Mechanical, and Client Engineers;
o Provide technical consulting assistance for Project Engineering and Client Engineers whenever required;
o Check “packaged” units to assure satisfactory performance and compatibility with rest of plant process design;
o Check models, plot plans, vessel drawings, pertinent vendor data, and pertinent piping layout to assure they are consistent with process design and also from the viewpoint of safety and operability;
o Participate in Client discussions and communications regarding process design basis and detailed implementation, flow diagrams, and process guarantees;
o Assist Project and Cost Engineers in scoping and pricing change orders when required as well as in preparing plant cost estimates when required;
o Develop plant operating instructions when required by contract;
o Make plant check-out as required in field to ensure flow diagrams and designs have been correctly implemented;
o Provide technical advice or supervision during initial plant operation and/ or testing as required;
o Throughout the project, maintain constant contact with Project Engineers and others to assist with detailed design and to ensure consistency of design details affecting the process capabilities of the plant;
o Provide process design specifications for meeting regulatory requirements relating to air, water, waste, noise pollution, safety and health, and maintain liaison with Environmental Engineering. Obtain their services as required;

Provide trend documentation for process changes;

Authorities:

- Has a right to request any company documents related to his/her job activities and duties.
- Cooperate with other employees and give tasks to his subordinates for achieving of the maximum results in day to day activities 
- To participate in all meetings related to his responsibilities 
- To familiarize with draft versions of management decisions
- To provide the company's management with proposals on improvement of work related to job responsibilities described in job descriptions.
- To require all necessary information (reports, explanations, etc.) from the heads of business units, specialists and other employees
- To sign and approve documents within the competence level.
- To require assistance in performance of job duties and rights from the company’s Director
- Interact and cooperate in the field of environmental management and occupational health and safety issues with stakeholders
- Make proposals to reduce environmental impacts on environment
- Participate in risk and environmental aspects assessment
- To submit proposals for the development of measures to protect the environment
