Job purpose and key deliverables
To actively contribute into the development and the implementation of marketing plans, that will ensure profitable management of the brand’s business both short and long terms.
Principal accountabilities:
1. To maximize brand potential by supporting the Brand Manager in recommending and developing consumer centric Brand Marketing strategies, and by implementing the activities required to achieve these strategies, which cover product, packaging, pricing, and communication touch points, in accordance with budget, time frames, portfolio strategy, and overall company objectives.
2. To manage, under the Brand Manager’s supervision, key assignments covering creative and analytical tasks of brand management.
3. To assist the Brand Manager in the management of his brand by:
Formulating strategies
Evaluation objectives
Identifying market opportunities and needs
Developing brand plans (input to Operational brand plan, Budget plan, Cycle plan)
Developing promotions, developing POSM, preparing activity recommendation forms, preparing execution/operational plans
Obtaining senior management approvals
Implementing agreed plans
Monitoring market performance
Recommending corrective action
Monitoring brand standards
Planning and monitoring of brand support expenditure for all brand related activities.
Preparing budget monthly reports and budget phasing updates to ensure spend does not exceed that authorized within the brand plan
4. To develop, under the Brand Manager’s supervision, new brand projects, brand line extension and adaptations, from identifying the problem/ opportunity through to launch.
5. To represent the brand team in the Brand Manager’s absence.
6. To brief, supervise and motivate internal services and external suppliers and agencies; to ensure the efficient and effective supply of material and campaigns to satisfy brand objectives.
7. To promote to co-ordination and communication between line managers and specialists in Head office and end markets.
8. To continuously monitor and evaluate current packaging and changes/ improvements so that they meet brand standards and are consistent with brand strategy.
9. To continuously monitor and evaluate all brand communication materials so that they meet brand quality standards and are consistent with brand copy strategy.
10. Continuously monitor product and packaging quality.
11. To effectively manage creative and executor agencies to deliver the set objectives.
12. Following up on emerging market and business trends, supporting in the initiation of ad hoc research projects, preparing research briefs, summary and action plans.
Essential requirements
• Knowledge, skills and experience:
• University degree in marketing
• 1 year relevant working experience in FMCG company is desirable
• Good level of English
• Good computer knowledge (Excel, Power Point, Word)
• Good communication and influencing skills
• Flexible and extrovert
• Good resource management
• Ability to make presentations
• Ability to work under pressure
• A good team worker
