Scope

Responsible for supervising and coordinating the duties of personnel engaged in the preparation of food items

Duties

 Supervises and participates in the preparation of all food non-food items.  Works as a team player.
 Works closely with the sous chef to prepare and cook food in accordance with restaurant format as well as the high standard of Hotel.
 Ensures an efficient stock of mise-en-place is available.
 Orders necessary food items for the next daysmise-en-place.
 Maintains good hygiene practices.
 Keeps there work area clean and all food items are stored and handled in the proper manner.
 Ensures proper handling, cleanliness and maintenance of equipment, utensils and refrigerators.
 Checks quality, quantity on hand, proper size and weight to ensure the best product is used.
 Is responsible for the smooth operation of the kitchen in the absence of the sous chef.
 Works there specific area in the kitchen to produce the best quality product for the hotel guest.
 Performs additional work related job tasks as instructed by his or her supervisor.
• Reports for work punctually and with a clean and complete uniform.
• Fallowing rules of ISO 22000 

JOB PROFILE:  

• EDUCATION : Public School Graduate/Three year apprenticeship as a chef
  
1. EXPERIENCE : Worked 3-5 years in an international five star property.  2-3 years as a commis in all areas of the kitchen.  1 year as a Demi Chef De Partie.
