Job Duties:

  • Responsible for creating inventive and distinctive recipes for bakery products that align with the brand's values. This includes meeting customer expectations while optimizing costs. Additionally, the chef should enhance existing recipes to meet required standards at the most economical cost.
  • Oversee the entire food production process and supply chain to ensure bakery items are prepared and handled according to established standards and at the lowest cost. 
  • Select and procure the finest ingredients for bakery products, considering factors such as quality, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability. 
  • Establish and enforce stringent quality control measures to ensure all bakery items meet the quality standards.
  • Provide training and management for the bakery's kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to proper food preparation and handling procedures. 
  • Work closely with the Operational Manager and Brand Manager to ensure that bakery offerings align with the brand's values and identity. 
  • Keep track of food costs and minimize waste through efficient production processes and inventory management practices. 
  • Guarantee adherence to all relevant food safety regulations, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends in the bakery industry and incorporate new ideas and techniques.

Requirements:

Education:

  •  Preferred Culinary Degree in bakery/pastry.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of prior experience in a pastry/bakery production department.
  • At least 2 years in a managerial role overseeing large-scale pastry/bakery production operations.

Professional Knowledge:

  • Thorough understanding of proper pastry/bakery methods, techniques, and standards.
  • Business acumen with knowledge of food costing, budgeting, and inventory management.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Desired Professional Qualities:

  • Leadership skills to lead, train, and inspire diverse teams in different divisions within the production facility.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Organized and detail-oriented
