Role Profile

Job Function/Scope

• Ensure all personnel authorised to operate Lift Trucks including but not limited to Forklift Trucks, Reach Trucks, Sideloader Trucks have formal recordable training and have been assessed as competent
• Provide a continuous review and assessment of site Forklift operating practices to ensure compliance with company and client procedures, SSOW as well as Industry and legislative standards
• Provide practical and theoretical coaching to all operators of Lift Truck equipment
• Ensure a register of competent personnel authorised to undertake lifting operations is maintained
• Ensure reassessment and training of personnel is completed with identified timeframe
• Assist with any risk assessments associated with Lift Truck equipment
• Liaise with Plant Maintenance lead to ensure thorough examination and colour coding (if applicable) of all Lift Truck equipment is carried out by an authorised 3rd party contractor every 6 months
• Responsible for all portable lifting equipment activities
• Liaise with Site Lifting Coordinator and verify that any 3rd party lifting equipment complies with BP SSOW.

People

• Responsible for identification of any training / coaching requirements for the lifting personnel.

HSEQ

• Monitoring and prevention of unsafe situations.
• Ensuring that all safety rules and procedures are followed and conform to the professional standards prescribed by the company.
• Ensure work is conducted within all applicable Legislative, ASCO Safety Management System and Client safe system of work.
• Maintain awareness of the potential significant environmental and social aspects and impacts of the operation.
• Constantly look for and act in the ways that reduce the health and safety risks, and the environmental, social, and security impact of your job and initiate improvements.

Customers

• Maintain good working relationship with vendors, contractors, 3rd parties.

Person Requirements

• Must be able to communicate and be a team member
• Must be able to drive change and be innovative and act as a coach and mentor to employees involved in lifting operations
• Must be able to identify priorities, co-ordinate resources and manage the performance of operations activities.
• Must be able to accept responsibility, work under pressure and unsupervised, self-motivated, reliable, flexible and innovative.
• Must be able to accurately handle paperwork and documentation in a controlled environment.

Essential Skills

• A minimum 3 years’ experience operating various types of lift trucks
• A minimum of 3 years related experience in the oil/petrochemical industry
• Accreditation to industry instruction standards (Such as RTITB) is preferred or
• Experience/qualification in a similar coaching function.
• An in-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, standards & industry best practice
• Good command of English, Azeri and Russian and ability to communicate effectively in all three languages.
• Good computer skills.
• Thorough understanding of HSE requirements & behaviour, Safe System’s of Work and use of Permit to Work system.
