Emporium has an available vacancy of Café Manager who will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Emporium café, including cafe finances & stock management, health and safety responsibilities, overseeing  events and bookings and managing a team. The manager is integral in creating an environment that is welcoming to existing and new customers and developing a self sustaining cafe that provides a varied and healthy menu together with consistent, professional service.

JOB DESCRIPTION

*Creation and implementation of all operational and administrative policies and procedures to ensure the Cafe run smoothly at all times
* Administrating the monthly/annual Cafe budget, as set with the Executive Director
* Managing the day-to-day handling of cash
*Providing high level of customer service to ensure client satisfaction and smooth running of the Cafe
* Develop a seasonal, healthy cold food menu
* Work with the Development Manager to identify user groups within the community to make use of the cafe in quieter times.
* Develop a motivated and high performing team committed to delivering clear goals
* Create, deliver and measure promotional activities

SKILLS & PERSON SPECIFICATION

* Previous experience of working in the food service industry at a similar level(5 star hotels, restaurants, lounges )
* Previous experience in stock control, waste management, financial reporting etc.
* The ideal candidate will have a passion for good food and the enthusiasm to
develop a creative and varied cold food menu
* Excellent organizational skills are essential as is the ability to co-ordinate staff and café activities
* Previous line management skills desirable as this post will involve supporting,
mentoring and encouraging cafe staff 
* Be enthusiastic in creating a friendly environment for the general public, tenants and building users
