Job Title: Operations Geologist

Job description:

Capable of handling all geological responsibilities associated with drilling operations with minimal supervision. Includes, but not limited to, the following:
• OpenWorks data management: Creates well headers, loading well data, and prepares well lists, etc.
• Well planning: Creates well targets data with reservoir and drilling engineers, and hence, generates well trajectories and    loading the directional data in OpenWorks.
• Prepares geological prognosis including but not limited to tops, cross sections, correlation panels, identifying any geological risks and contingency issues/planning and finally ensures acknowledgements of the program by other parties
• Monitors and geo-steers all types of wells both in office or onsite when needed
• Updates grids/maps in light of the new drilling information obtained from active wells to help optimizing wells objectives.
This should be done by using landmark software Package such as ZMAP or StratWorks.
• Clear understanding of operational drilling activities and their implications.
• Capable and willing to be involved with 24 hour operational activities with regards to tracking wells and making decisions   in wellbore tack adjustments due to geological issues. This includes interacting with a Geosteering Operations Center.
• Performs the wells evaluations while and post-drilling, such as final correlations, maps and grids for both structural, stratigraphic, and fluid limits mapping using Landmark Software as mentioned below.
• Clarity and well understanding when communicating with other parties involved in the drilling activities
• Perform development geology studies that help in planning and modifications of operation plans
• Performs all WAP(Well Approval Package) requirements from initial WAP to the spud of the well

Qualifications:
a- B sc. in geology  is a minimum required degree
b- Experienced operation geologist (7 years as minimum) that covers practical experience in drilling operations, coring and logging
c- Software experienced in LandMark( ZMAP, StratWorks, Wellbore Planner..etc) and/or Geoframe (modeling experience is   an advantage)
d- English language fluency
