Project Manager

PURPOSE

(General & Strategic goal to be reached by this position) Coordinates with Projects Director, manages in directing, coordinating and exercising functional management, engineering authority for planning, organization, control, integration and completion of the project within area of assigned responsibility.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
MAIN
(Main, essential, regular tasks & duties to be done. Responsibilities for team, processes & programs coordination and management) 

• Manages engineering staff in the implementation of technical plans to be used in accomplishing the designated projects to ensure that objectives are met within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
• Manages the implementation of project plans previously determined and agreed upon based on the specified time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of projects. Confers with engineering staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities and scope of authority. Closely coordinate activities of engineering crews to ensure project progress on schedule and within prescribed budget. Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.  Ensure the installation team is competent and capable to carry out the installation.
• Familiarize with Project Schedule and ensure that engineering, installation, commissioning and start-up activities are according to project schedule. Informs the Projects Director, necessary action to be taken to maintain the project in schedule. Arrange and maintain a proper document control system. Review and approve all basic engineering documents from the design contractor.  Work with engineering team to complete their engineering scope.
• Ensure the fabrication site is ready with all utilities, construction equipment and material handling equipment.
• Ensure Platform structural design and installation work is completed within the Project Schedule.
• Work with Process Engineers to familiarize with the process engineering, data communication, electrical, instrumentation and control system. Provide engineering support to Installation teams. Review and approve all the as-built drawings and documents. Review and approve Operations/Maintenance Manuals.
• Provide engineering support to Commissioning and Start-up team. Arrange and conduct training to Operation and Maintenance Team. Ensure all the equipment and modules are working in proper order within guarantee period.
• Coordinate the commissioning and the start up of the project. Ensure contractors are working according to their commercial contract. Ensure the Project is completed within the budget.

Education:

Type & Level Diploma in any Engineering Courses
Specific Professional Competencies Experienced in scheduling, ordering, field supervision, quality control and production of all phases of project construction activities
Language Skills: Language & Levels Excellent oral & written communication in English and interpersonal skills.
Computer Knowledge & Skills E‐mails, AutoCad - Primavera - Windows‐based PC applications

Work Experience:

Area & Length At least eight (8) to ten (10) years (post qualification) work experience as Engineering Manager in Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Industries. Must be familiar to specific phases of project, technical studies, designs, specifications, technical plans, testing and evaluate charges as called for. Middle East experience is an advantage.

Must possess excellent organizational skills and ability to forecast project requirements and assess actual status.

Additional Skills & Competencies 

With excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must have varied and actual experience in construction and maintenance with various training and seminar.
