Responsibilities: 

  • Provide academic leadership and strategic direction for the department 
  • Develop a collective vision of the subject and its teaching 
  • Contribute to the implementation and monitoring of strategic goals 
  • Provide overall academic management 
  • Ensure the department is kept up to date with the planning, syllabus and 
  • external examination 
  • Ensure the department has internally planned schemes of work for all year groups 
  • Ensure regular lesson observations 
  • Lead the analysis of the needs of learners 
  • Contribute to the development of academic policies 
  • Plan and coordinate department’s staffing requirements 
  • Identify opportunities for growth and develop plans accordingly 
  • Provide annual progress report with recommendations  
  • Arranging meeting with parents  

Background: 

  • Appropriate postgraduate degree  
  • 5+ years of experience as a teacher  
  • Significant experience and knowledge of the teaching of academic English 
  • Previous experience working as Manager is a plus
