National Consultant/ Training Programme Developer & Trainer

Tasks to be performed under this assignment:

  • Analyze suitable funding opportunities with details on requirements and restrictions, target groups and areas of interest for the CSOs
  • Work with the project team and CSOs in order to identify different sources of funding available in the country.
  • Identify other funding opportunities (corporate houses, trusts, funding agencies and individuals) internationally and locally, and provide recommendations for next steps in approaching these sources of funding
  • Coordinate with the project team and CSOs to develop recommendations for building fundraising strategy that will guide the organizations in their fundraising efforts.
  • Ensure that training materials correspond to the relevant actors’ needs
  • Conduct Training of Trainers for selected CSO representatives in compliance with developed and approved training program 
  • Ensure smooth implementation of Training of Trainers defined within the scope of the project activity
  • Develop the criteria for the selection of trainers to create a pool of ten trainers from CSOs on fundraising skills able to conduct roll out sessions.

Tangible and measurable deliverables:

  • 9-12 May 2022: Delivery of the activity methodology including selection criteria for trainers.  
  • 13 May-3 June 2022:  Development of ToT Program and training materials including manual, Power Point presentations, guidance for facilitators, training notes and accompanying material and documentation, evaluation forms.
  • 20-22 June 2022: Delivery of 3-day Training of Trainers in Baku
  • 23-30 June 2022: Report of the ToT including the evaluation of the participants, training overall and the selected expert trainers for the rollout sessions based on selection criteria developed.

Performance indicators for the evaluation of results: 

  • Quality of the training curriculum produced. 
  • Successfully conducting trainings of trainers
  • Timely delivery of outputs. 
  • Professionality of communication with IOM project team. 

Education, Experience and/or skills required:

  • Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Educational sciences, Business Administration & Management, Public Relations and Communication or a related field from an accredited academic institution with five years of strategic development and fundraising experience (including donor management, identification, and liaison; proposal writing).
  • Minimum 3 (three) years of experience in designing, planning and delivering trainings, especially for CSOs; 
  • Fluency in English and Azerbaijani
  • Demonstrated fundraising, organizational/community development skills and abilities;
  • Knowledge of and experience in developing and coordinating fundraising events;
  • Knowledge of fundraising cycles, proposal formats and application procedures for key donors;
  • Professional experience in working with the civil society organizations
